Lis Brechbiel, MA, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
'We don't have to do it all alone, we were never meant to."
-Brene Brown
Lisa has years of experience professionally working at an agency in international adoption and disruptions, walking with families and individuals facing a myriad of issues, including family crisis and trauma. In addition, she has over 12 years of professional youth ministry experience, which has included counseling, mentoring, teaching, and speaking into the lives of both youth and their families. As a wife of 27 years with 7 children, 5 of whom are adopted, Lisa comes with a wealth of real life experience of counseling, conflict-resolution, and parenting. It was the combination of youth ministry, raising children with trauma, and her work in adoption with families in crisis that led her to pursue her degree in counseling so she could broaden her understanding and training, and enable her to work in a clinical counseling context. Clinically, she has worked with individuals and couples on a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, attachment, infertility, marital concerns, grief, parenting and trauma. Her approach to therapy is an integrative approach utilizing Narrative attachment therapy as a framework and integrating Strength-based, Solution-focused, Cognitive/Behavioral, and Existential theoretical orientations and interventions. She has a bachelors degree in Ministry and Leadership and an MA in Counseling. Lisa is Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Oregon.
