Licensed Professional Counselor
'We don't have to do it all alone, we were never meant to."
-Brene Brown
Hi, I’m Lisa—a wife of over 33 years, a mom to seven amazing kids (five through adoption), and someone who’s deeply passionate about helping people find healing, hope, change, and strength through life’s challenges. My own journey—through parenting, adoption, ministry, and walking alongside families in crisis—has shaped not just who I am, but how I approach therapy: with empathy, insight, and a whole lot of heart.
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oregon, certified in neurofeedback, and hold a Master’s degree in Counseling and a Bachelor’s in Ministry and Leadership. I specialize in working with anxiety, trauma recovery, abuse recovery, high-conflict family dynamics, and couples counseling—with a particular heart for struggling families, anxiety/panic, adoption, abuse (religious and narcissistic in particular), attachment and families navigating complex transitions.
My approach to therapy is relational, integrative, and grounded in science, strengths-based and story. I draw from a variety of evidence-based methods including narrative therapy, somatic practices, strength-based and solution-focused techniques, cognitive/behavioral strategies, and mindfulness-based tools. I’m also trained in Lifespan Integration, EMDR and incorporate brain-based approaches to support deep, lasting change.
Professionally, I’ve had the privilege of serving in agency settings focused on international adoption and disruption, as well as over 12 years in youth ministry—mentoring, teaching, and walking alongside teens and their families. Today, in addition to my counseling practice, I serve as a state-approved clinical supervisor and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in counseling, psychology, and supervision as an adjunct professor.
Whether I’m working with individuals, couples, or families, my goal is to create a safe, supportive space where healing can happen—where people feel seen, heard, and empowered. I also love speaking at conferences on topics like attachment, anxiety, parenting, and building resilience during life’s storms.
At the heart of it all, I believe in the power of connection, the resilience of the human spirit, and the incredible capacity we each have to grow, heal, and thrive.
